This covers getyourownqr.com and its official browser extension. Static QR codes — the free tool at /app — are generated entirely in your browser; we never see or store the URLs you encode there. Dynamic QR codes are a paid feature that requires an account, and necessarily involves us storing the destination URL and scan data so the redirect and analytics can work.
Static QR codes (free, no account)
Nothing is collected. Encoding happens entirely client-side in your browser. Open your browser's network tab while using /app and you'll see nothing sent anywhere.
Dynamic QR codes (paid, requires an account)
- Account: the email address and password you sign up with, handled by our authentication provider, Supabase.
- QR link data: the destination URL and title for each dynamic QR code you create.
- Scan data: each time someone scans one of your dynamic QR codes, we record a timestamp, a country (derived from the request, not your visitor's raw IP address), a coarse device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop, derived from the browser's user-agent string — we don't store the raw string), and the referring page if one was sent. We do not store IP addresses.
- Billing: subscription payments are processed by Razorpay. We store your subscription status, not your card details.
What stays on your device
Your theme preference (light/dark) and static-QR design history are stored only in your browser's local storage. We never receive them.
Contact form
The form on our contact page opens a pre-filled message in your own email app — it does not submit anything to our servers.
Browser extension
The getyourownqr.com Chrome extension generates QR codes locally. When you click the toolbar icon, it reads the current tab's URL (or, from the right-click menu, the link you clicked) only to pre-fill the QR code — that URL is used entirely on your device and is never sent to us or anywhere else. The extension stores one setting, your configured editor URL, in Chrome's own synced storage, tied to your Chrome profile — not to us. The extension collects no analytics and contains no remote or third-party code.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
- We don't run third-party analytics or tracking scripts on this site.
- We don't use tracking cookies — only what's needed to keep you signed in.
Deleting your data
Delete any dynamic QR code at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and its data entirely, email us at support@yourmocktest.com — this isn't yet self-service.
Children's privacy
This service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page if this policy changes materially.
